Work has started on the new multi-million pound distribution facility in the North East of England, due for completion by the end of 2018.
Located within the Turbine Business Park, the new facility is adjacent to the main arterial routes, the A1 and A19, and will have 4000 sq ft of office and amenities, a 15,000 sq ft warehouse with dedicated, high bay storage for both life and material science speciality ingredients, and bulk storage facilities for the range of inorganic products. The new site will have extensive mixing and blending capabilities, and will effectively be the hub for the North East of England, servicing both the current customer base and the wider Brenntag network.
The new 3.3. acre site will be home to Brenntag Newcastle team where the staff have been closely involved with the design for the new facilities. Shaun Myers, Business Services Director, Brenntag UK & Ireland, said: ” Firstly it makes me very proud to be able to offer our loyal, hard working colleagues a much improved working environment which is richly deserved. We have a fantastic heritage of servicing the North East and Cumbria and are extremely pleased that we will be able to expand our service offering to the region through our brand new facilities. This major investment signifies our strategic intent to further enhance the efficiency of our infrastructure, geographical reach and added value capabilities in the core markets we serve. At the heart of our Service Excellence programme is the ability to easily access the full range of services you’d expect from a global leader through local servicing and representation, again the new facilities will only go to enhancing these values”.
