Biesterfeld to distribute Sandream pigments for European cosmetic markets

US-based effect pigment supplier Sandream Impact and Biesterfeld Spezialchemie have signed a distribution agreement for the European cosmetic markets. The specialty chemicals distributor now represents the US company in the German-speaking DACH region, Eastern Europe and Turkey.

With more than 800 products, Sandream Impact’s portfolio is characterized by its very wide variety. Natural and synthetic mica, borosilicate glasses, bismuth oxychloride and aluminium are offered as pigment substrates. The portfolio is also supplemented by its Ecoperse products, which are pigment dispersions based on ECOCERT-certified octyldodecyl olivate.

Due to its high pace of innovation, its pigment portfolio is steadily expanding while continuously responding to current trends and market developments. For example, the 2019 spring-summer trend forecasts colour blends symbolising strength, passion, cheerfulness, warmth and stability.

Bettina Heick, market manager Personal Care, says: “Colour cosmetics has become one of the fastest growing segments in the personal care industry, with a high rate of innovation. We have a strong colour cosmetics expertise at Biesterfeld, and we are more than pleased that we can now also offer the Sandream Impact effect pigments to our customers. With Sandream Impact we have found the perfect fit for our existing portfolio, and we are now in the position to offer a one-stop shop to all our colour cosmetic customers.”

Todd Ahern, vice president Sales & Marketing at Sandream Impact adds: “With their strong presence in the assigned territory and their great spirit and knowledge, we are convinced that Biesterfeld is the right partner to represent our portfolio on the European market. We have a common understanding of how to optimally serve customers, and we are very excited to start our cooperation with Biesterfeld.”
