Today’s consumers demand much more than bold looks and effortless application from their personal care and cosmetics products. They also want products with ingredients that are gentle enough for sensitive skin areas. That’s why personal care and cosmetics formulators are constantly searching for the perfect combination of ingredients that deliver the versatility, efficiency and stability they need for the latest hair care, skin care, sun care and color cosmetics applications.
At the 2018 in-cosmetics Global event on April 17 – 19 in Amsterdam, ANGUS Chemical Company is launching four novel formulation kits that highlight the multifunctional performance benefits of its globally compliant portfolio of ULTRA PC amino alcohols. With decades of proven effectiveness, ANGUS’ high-purity ULTRA PC multifunctional amino alcohols provide high-efficiency neutralization, improved emulsion stabilization and enhanced pigment dispersion across a broad array of personal care and cosmetics applications.
“Formulators face a complex set of challenges during new product development – from a shrinking toolbox of available ingredients to increasing consumer pressure for greater ingredient disclosure,” said Claire Maixent, ANGUS Personal Care Customer Applications Specialist. “ANGUS’ ULTRA PC-grade multifunctional amino alcohols are proven to deliver robust in-formulation performance, such as producing excellent synergistic effect with fatty acid emulsifiers, carbomer and acidic resins in skin care applications. Our ULTRA PC amino alcohols also have a more favorable health and environmental profile when compared to TEA, KOH and NaOH, giving formulators unique tools to help address the heavy influence of consumers on the use of specific chemistries.”
The four, innovative formulation kits were developed by the ANGUS Personal Care Application Teams in Paris, Chicago, Singapore and São Paulo, and include:
- After 6 – A luxurious skin care kit with unique products specifically developed to cleanse, hydrate and protect your skin – morning, noon and night.
- Love Is in the Hair – A one-of-a-kind hair care kit specifically developed to capture the allure and excitement of finding the perfect product that makes you and your hair feel like a match made in heaven.
- Pop Colour – A unique color cosmetics kit specifically formulated to provide a distinctive look that helps make your inner beauty shine on the outside.
- All Systems Go – A first-class toiletries kit specifically developed to help you keep pace with your active lifestyle with personal care products that perform the way you need – especially when you, and your schedule, are under pressure.
The ULTRA PC portfolio of amino alcohols includes: AMP-ULTRA PC (INCI: Aminomethyl Propanol), TRIS AMINO ULTRA PC (INCI: Tromethamine), AMPD ULTRA PC (INCI: Aminomethyl Propanediol), and the recently launched DMAMP ULTRA PC (INCI: Dimethylamino Methylpropanol) multifunctional alkalizing agent for oxidative hair colourants. ANGUS’ ULTRA PCgrade products offer universal cosmetic acceptability and are compliant with the most recent Cosmetics Directives on secondary amine and nitrosamine content of raw materials used in the manufacture of cosmetics and personal care products.
“In this fast-moving, dynamic market, formulators must react quickly to shifts in styles and preferences to rapidly develop new products that deliver final end-product performance that creates the differentiation necessary to stand out in the crowded market,” said Matthieu Perdon, Regional Marketing Manager, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “With our unique chemistries and deep formulation expertise, we are well positioned to help customers discover a better way to overcome the complex challenges they encounter with their personal care and cosmetics
applications.”
