PROCOS S.p.A., a leading Italian chemical-pharmaceutical company specializing in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), had the honor of being selected among the speakers at the Italy Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, during the event “Investing in Piemonte presents manufacturing and innovation.”
The initiative, organized by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) together with the Piemonte Region, was part of the official Piemonte Regional Week (September 28 – October 4, 2025). The event gathered Italian and Japanese companies, investors, and institutions to foster dialogue, promote cross-border collaboration, and highlight the strengths of Italian manufacturing and innovation.
Representing PROCOS, Enrico Zodio, CEO, and Kingo Yamashita, Chief Commercial Officer, shared the company’s growth journey: from its origins in Cameri (Novara) in 1945, through the strategic acquisition by Japan’s CBC Co., Ltd. in 2006, to the company’s most recent milestone—the launch of the new R11 production unit, a project that will increase manufacturing capacity by 25% with cutting-edge technologies.
“Being invited to take part in this prestigious panel within the Italian Pavilion at Expo Osaka is a source of great pride for PROCOS,” said Enrico Zodio during his address. “Our story demonstrates how passion, commitment, and shared values can enable even a medium-sized company to make an authentic and recognized contribution on the global stage.”
During the event, PROCOS also emphasized its commitment to innovation and sustainability, announcing a long-term investment plan of €150 million over the next 8–10 years, aimed at strengthening R&D activities and continuously improving its Cameri site with sustainable and responsible practices.
The participation of PROCOS at Expo 2025 Osaka reinforced the symbolic and strategic bond between Italy and Japan. For PROCOS, this connection is deeply rooted not only in its corporate history as part of the CBC Group, but also in the shared values of teamwork, harmony, and resilience—principles that continue to guide its mission in supporting global health.
As PROCOS celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2025, alongside CBC’s 100th anniversary, the company proudly represents a successful partnership between Piedmont and Japan, a bridge of innovation and collaboration that looks confidently toward the future.
